DSS Completes Recording Interoperability Tests in Motorola Lab
Southfield, Mich. – DSS Corporation (www.dispatchimprovement.com) successfully completed recording interoperability tests with Motorola’s Project 25 conformant Astro 25 radio system at the company’s Schaumburg, IL testing laboratories, utilizing the radio system’s MCC 7500 interface. The Equature NG9-1-1 recording suite was run through DSS’s rigorous set of certification tests, which was developed with the help of some experts from Motorola and the Michigan Public Safety Communications System (MPSCS). The MPSCS is the largest P25 communications system in the world, based on the number of zones, and DSS was very pleased to get the input of some of their experts on the test suites. DSS General Manger Joe Mosed said: “The Motorola and MPSCS teams have been great – very professional, and highly knowledgeable. We’re fortunate to be able work with such a great bunch of people.”
The full set of MCC 7500 functions that support recording were tested, including, but not limited to, radio database interface functions, clear and encrypted transmission recording, capture of call metadata, radio system “adds, moves, and changes”, and a suite of “interruption of service” tests designed to ensure that the recording system recovers properly from catastrophic events. DSS V.P. of Sales Jeff Vezina said: “Completing these tests should make our customers very happy. Some of them have been asking us to do this for quite some time. It’s a win-win all the way around.”
