Submit a Nomination for the E9-1-1 Institute Board of Directors
The E-911 Institute shares the Mission of the Congressional E9-1-1 Caucus promoting public education and awareness on E9-1-1 and emergency communications issues. The E9-1-1 Institute’s operations are overseen by a Board of Directors, working closely with the Executive Director.
The E9-1-1 Institute Board has been comprised of fifteen members. Four (4) of these seats are permanent seats: They are held by an APCO, NENA, & NASNA appointed representative and the Executive Director of the E9-1-1 Institute. The other eleven members are representatives from the following constituencies. They each serve 2-year terms:
- One (1) person from the wireless (CMRS) industry;
- One (1) person representing a major telecommunication carrier/company;
- One (1) person representing a small telecommunication company;
- Two (2) representatives from a vendor/integrator/software company;
- One (1) representative from an IP based company;
- One (1) representative from other non-profit organizations involved in public health or public safety issues;
- One (1) representative from an accredited college or university; and
- Three (3) representatives from the membership at large.
Each year, the E9-1-1 Institute holds an election for the Board of Directors. However, the seats up for election each year are staggered to maintain consistency and prevent a large turn over of the Board in one year.

- One (1) Academic representative;
- Two positions from the Membership at Large;
- One (1) Large telecommunications carrier/company;
