APCO Applauds AT&T’s Campaign to Educate Consumers
Alexandria, Va. – AT&T, Inc. today unveiled a new website www.itcanwait.com as part of the “It Can Wait” campaign launched in 2010 to educate consumers, and specifically teens, on the dangers of texting while driving. The campaign provides public service announcements, targeted advertising against the practice of texting while driving and an educational tool kit to schools and companies.
AT&T President Randall Stephenson publicly announced his re-commitment to the cause and encourages all consumers to sign the pledge on the website not to text and drive. He has approved a national advertising campaign and a call to action for consumers to make texting while driving socially unacceptable.
“APCO supports AT&T’s commitment to educating consumers on the dangers of texting while driving and for providing the tools to improve safe driving practices,” said APCO President Gregg Riddle.
