S.C. Man Accused in 9-1-1 Threats Case
Post & Courier (Charleston, SC)
While election officials scrambled to count votes and determine a winner in Tuesday’s election, Charleston County deputies arrested a Johns Island man who they said called 9-1-1 and threatened to shoot President Barack Obama.
Deputies said Kevin Daryl Salvo, 51, called 9-1-1 twice Tuesday from his Anglers Pond Road home. A 9-1-1 dispatcher told deputies Salvo cursed all Democrats, demanded all members of the party stay away from him and claimed “the South will rise again.” Salvo also said he would shoot Obama, an incident report states.
Deputies arrested Salvo about 11:30 p.m., the report said. He was charged with making illegal calls to 9-1-1.
Salvo was being held at the Charleston County jail Wednesday. A judge set his bail at $1 ,092.
