DHS Assistant Secretary Michael Locatis & FirstNet Board Members Confirmed to Speak at APCO’s Emerging Technology Forum
Alexandria, Va. – The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International is pleased to announce that Michael Locatis, Assistant Secretary of Cybersecurity and Communications for the Department of Homeland Security, will be speaking at APCO’s Emerging Technology Forum taking place January 30-31, 2013 in Anaheim, CA.
Michael Locatis joined the Department of Homeland Security as Assistant Secretary of Cybersecurity and Communications in April 2012. In this capacity, Mr. Locatis oversees a large portfolio of programs to protect the dot-gov domain. An expert in cybersecurity and information management, Mr. Locatis has held a number of prior senior positions in these fields at the federal, state, and local government levels.
APCO is also excited to announce that two members of the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) Board, Craig Farrill, Wireless Telecommunications Executive and Kevin McGinnis, Chief/CEO of North East Mobile Health Services, will be speaking at the Forum. Mr. Farrill and Mr. McGinnis will offer their insights on the status of FirstNet’s efforts to implement the nationwide public safety broadband network.
