NEW YORK (AP) – Police say a 51-year-old landlord who lived on one of Brooklyn’s trendiest corners was so annoyed by street noise that he placed hundreds of 911 calls of bogus tales, including a subway explosion, to bring police to the scene.

Police said Louis Segna was arrested Friday after police discovered that 403 phony emergency calls were made from his cellphone during the past two years.

Many of the calls were about unruly crowds, but some were more serious, such as a Sept. 1 call that there was an explosion inside the L-train subway line that connects Brooklyn and Manhattan. Police raced to the scene and found nothing wrong. Segna was charged with false reporting and reckless endangerment.
