Anaheim, California — 18th August 2013.   Codan Radio Communications, a division of Codan Limited (ASX-CDA), will be demonstrating the MRAY, its new HF and LMR cross-platform technology, at APCO International. The MRAY integrates Codan’s Envoy™ HF smart radio, LMR VHF/UHF 30 W Repeater and 3031 Crosspatch™ to create a unique and innovative product that enables long distance communications between two or more P25 repeater sites via a HF link.

“Our new MRAY is the only product that offers a flexible integrated communications solution without the need for existing infrastructure. It combines Codan’s leading edge HF and LMR technologies to provide reliable, long distance communications in extreme environments, which is especially important for emergency relief and disaster response,” said Paul McCarter, Codan’s Executive General Manager of the Radio Communications Division.

The MRAY is the lightest 125 W, high power deployable HF base station, or HF to 30 W VHF/UHF Crosspatch system, operational from AC mains or its own battery supply. It is available in a variety of configurations ranging from HF voice and data communications through to GPS tracking and telephony.

“The MRAY provides the distinct advantages of rapid deployment, ease of use, and long distance communications and portability where previously a leased line, microwave or private IP networks were the only options,” said McCarter.

Housed in a standard Pelican® Case for rapid deployment, the MRAY’s rugged and compact design enables it to be transported in passenger vehicles and commercial aircraft. The MRAY is a complete self-contained solution with optional accessories including a solar panel system, battery case, and antenna and masts.
