Sepura announces that it has delivered a TETRA trunked radio system to Toronto Transit Commission (“TTC”).  The system was successfully deployed in time to support the planned 2 day shutdown of one of TTC’s main lines on the 10th and 11th of August 2013.

This is an initial deployment of the contract awarded to Sepura less than 2 months ago by TTC for a TETRA digital communications infrastructure to cover Toronto’s subway lines and 8 above-ground sites; the first TETRA network to be deployed by a transport organization in Canada.  This standalone TETRA system will also be used for coverage verification and will be in operation during the next planned shutdown of the line, due to take place in October – when TTC expects to complete major work on the subway system.

In order to enable such a demanding turn-around we teamed up with TTC to understand their testing requirements and deliver a fully functioning and ready-to-go system.  In addition, to ensure TTC were able to take full advantage of the new communication infrastructure, we provided local support throughout the shut-down testing period”.
