FCC Announces Additional Members Appointed to the Task Force on Optimal PSAP Architecture

This Public Notice serves as notice that, consistent with the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA)1, Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission) Chairman Thomas Wheeler has appointed the following additional members to the Task Force on Optimal Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) Architecture (TFOPA or Task Force).2

  • Jay English – The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO)
  • Brian Fontes – National Emergency Number Association (NENA)
  • April Heinze – Michigan Communication Directors Association
  • Phil Jones – Washington State Utilities and Transportation Commission
  • Robert Rhoads – Office of Emergency Communications, Department of Homeland Security
  • Dana Wahlberg – Minnesota Department of Public Safety

2. On Oct. 10, 2014, the Commission released a Public Notice seeking nominations and expressions of interest for membership on the Task Force. See FCC Seeks Nominations by Nov. 7, 2014 for Membership on New Task Force on Optimal Public Safety Answering Point Architecture, Public Notice, DA 14-1481 (rel. Oct. 10, 2014). On Dec. 2, 2014, pursuant to the FACA, the Commission established the Task Force charter for a period of two years, through Dec. 2, 2016.
