Silent Key: Marsha Ann Pacolt

Longtime APCO member Marsha Ann Pacolt, 67, died Aug. 23 in Rochester, Minnesota after a battle with cancer.

Mrs. Pacolt served as vice president of the Minnesota APCO Chapter from 2008-2014. She had also served on the joint APCO-MSA-NENA conference training committee since its inception in 2007. Prior to that, she served on many APCO training events. She chaired the MN APCO “Make a Difference” Award selection committee, the chapter’s Sunshine Committee, and was co-chair of the volunteer committee for the 2012 National APCO conference in Minneapolis.

Mrs. Pacolt graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1966, then continued her studies at Winona State University. She married Larry Worke on Dec. 1, 1968 and had a daughter, Tammy, in 1969. They later divorced and Marsha married Stan Pacolt in 1990.

Mrs. Pacolt worked for the Rice County Sheriff’s Department for many years, and also worked for the  9-1-1 Center in Owatonna as an Administrative Assistant. She later transferred to Maplewood and worked for the police department as a Supervisor of the Communications Center. Most recently, Mrs. Pacolt was employed by Ramsey County as an Emergency Communications Manager.

According to her family Pacolt, known as “Nana” to her grandchildren, enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, watching her granddaughters play sports, going to the lake, spending time at her new home in Mantorville, and taking care of her four dogs. “She touched many people’s lives with her kind heart and her big smile,” her family said in her obituary.

Mrs. Pacolt is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Mark) Mathias; father and mother, Edward and Virginia Lindquist of Waterville, Minnesota; sister, Sandy Kay (Tim) Bass of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota; Larry (Annette) Lindquist of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota; Lee (Sandy) Lindquist of Austin, Minnesota, and grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stan Pacolt and paternal and maternal grandparents.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 301 8th Ave NW, Kasson, Minnesota, with Pastor Dana O’Brien officiating.

Visitation will be at the Dibble Funeral Home, 213 W. Main St, Kasson, Minnesota, Friday, Aug. 28, 2015 from 5 – 7 p.m., and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Kasson, Minnesota.
