Meet Your AFC Advisors: Eric Linsley (Alabama)
AFC, APCO’s frequency coordination department, is pleased to introduce its network of dedicated local advisor volunteers. APCO’s advisors are responsible for frequency coordination in their home state and we would like to bring awareness and recognition to the dedication they exhibit on a daily basis. Please feel free to reach out to our local advisors with any questions dealing with FCC Part 90 licensing and frequency coordination.
Eric Linsley is employed by Mobile County Commission as the Director of Public Safety Communications and has 20 plus years in Public Safety Radio Communications. Eric started out installing public safety two-way radios for a local Kenwood dealer for the City of Daphne, Alabama Police Department. He continued to work at other dealers installing radios, responding to dispatch centers and radio repeater towers for service calls. In 1994, Eric started working for Mobile County Commission as an Electronic Systems Analyst maintaining Mobile County’s 800 MHz GE EDACS Trunking system. In 1999, Eric was promoted to Department Head in charge of all Mobile County Commission Electronic Systems.
Eric has been active with APCO for over twenty years in Public Safety Frequency Coordination and Training. Eric is Chairman of the Region 1, Alabama 700 MHz & 800 MHz Planning Committee and local alternate frequency advisor for Alabama. Eric was the past recipient of APCO International RF Technician of the Year 2008. Eric serves on many state-wide committees for interoperability communications. Eric has two children, Erkya and Brad.
