Meet Your AFC Advisors: Morton Leifer (New York)
AFC, APCO’s frequency coordination department, is pleased to introduce its network of dedicated local advisor volunteers. APCO’s advisors are responsible for frequency coordination in their home state and we would like to bring awareness and recognition to the dedication they exhibit on a daily basis. Morton Leifer has been an APCO Local Advisor-Frequency Coordinator in New York for four years and was named Frequency Advisor of the Year for 2015. He is Co-Chair of RPC-8 and a member of the P25 CAP Advisory Panel. He continues to serve as the Electronic Communications Specialist for the Clarkstown NY Police Department since 1973. He served as Professor, Chair of the Information and Engineering Technology Division of SUNY Rockland Community College from 1972 to June 2006. He was awarded the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching and the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Faculty Service. He has an Electrical Engineering degree from NYU and is a Registered Professional Engineer in New York State.
