Woodbury, Vermont – Friday, March 10, 2017 – The National Association of State 9-1-1 Administrators (NASNA) expresses its support of the FCC’s investigation into AT&T’s nationwide 9-1-1 outage that occurred on March 8.

We trust that the investigation will identify the root cause of the outage and identify steps AT&T should take to avoid a recurrence of this issue.

NASNA will do whatever it can to assist the Commission with its investigation, and hopes that the Commission will share the information and findings – to the extent possible – with public safety associations such as NASNA.

Meanwhile, if our members or their 9-1-1 centers did not receive timely notification from AT&T or its vendors, we have recommended that they report the issue via the Public Safety Support Center on the Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau’s Web page.
