APCO Seeks Comments on Draft Minimum Operational Standards for the Use of TTY/TDD or Similar Device in the Public Safety Communications Center
Alexandria, Va. – The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International is seeking comments on a Candidate American National Standard (ANS) 1.108.1-201x that addresses minimum operational standards for use of TTY/TDD or similar devices in the public safety communications center.
“Ensuring that personnel are adequately equipped and trained to communicate with speech and hearing impaired callers is paramount in providing equal access to all callers,” said APCO International President Martha Carter.
