APCO’s Chief Counsel Jeff Cohen discussed APCO’s top legislative priorities.  Topics included the 9-1-1 SAVES Act, which would reclassify public safety telecommunicators as “Protective Service Occupations” and the Next Generation 9-1-1 Act of 2019, which would provide significant federal funding need to modernize 9-1-1 systems nationwide, in addition to requiring interoperability and preserving state and local control of 9-1-1.
