The Rochester/Monroe County (N.Y.) 9-1-1 Center has received its fourth accreditation from the Commission for Accreditation of Law Enforcement.
The accreditation, received Nov. 20 at the CALEA Conference in California, followed a process to assure the center is meeting public safety standards. Examined were all aspects of the Emergency Communications Department’s policy and procedures including administration, operations, training, direction and authority, organization, critical incidents and homeland security.
Center Director John Merklinger said the center was first recognized by CALEA in 1997 and has been reaccredited every three years since.
