APCO International Receives Grant from Motorola Foundation
Daytona Beach, Fla. — Public safety students at APCO Institute and APCO Virtual College now have access to another $50,000 for their studies thanks to the Motorola Foundation. The Motorola Foundation awarded this grant to the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials International (APCO) for the Commercial Advisory Council Scholarship Fund.
The APCO Commercial Advisory Council (CAC) Scholarship Fund was initiated by the Commercial Advisory Council as a means for its commercial members to give back to the public safety community.
Scholarship funds are received through the CAC and administered by APCO Institute. Fund donations are accepted throughout the year and will be disbursed for public safety job related training through APCO Institute or through the APCO Virtual College at Jacksonville State University. Scholarship Applications are accepted January through March and may be found at https://www.apcointl.org/training-and-certification/scholarships/.
“The Motorola Foundation has a long history of supporting public safety professionals,” said Matt Blakely, Motorola Foundation. “We are proud to support programs like the APCO CAC Scholarship Fund which provide important educational opportunities that keep our communities safe.”
