Savannah Chatham Metropolitan 9-1-1 Celebration Plans
Editor’s note: Catherine “Cathy” Plaster, communications center coordinator for Savannah Chatham (Ga.) Metropolitan 9-1-1, informed us that it has an extensive week planned for National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week 2011. See the full schedule below.
Each day has been strategically planned out. In order to cover the midnight shift, [Plaster] will come in at 6:30 a.m. every morning (to include Sunday & Saturday) and present the Watches with the surprise of the day.
Sunday, April 10, 2011: Lunch bags command staff bought for each shift.
Monday, April 11, 2011: Supervisor of the year.
Tuesday, April 12, 2011: Communications Training Officer of the Year certificate.
Wednesday, April 13, 2011: Call Taker of the Year certificate
Thursday, April 14, 2011: Supervisor of the Year certificate
Friday, April 15, 2011: Dispatcher of the Year certificate
Saturday, April 16, 2011: Come in before each shift and present them with their Certificate of Appreciation.
In addition to the presentations above, these are the additional surprises to be given out that were donated to the 9-1-1 staff by other entities we interact or dispatch for, including the Police Association, SCMPD, CINC, Garden City Fire Department and Savannah Fire.
Plaster says, “It has been fun and rewarding watching their surprised faces when they were presented with something new every day.”
