Art McDole Memorial Service
More than 150 family and friends gathered at the Northminster Presbyterian Church in Salinas, Calif. on May 14. They were there to participate in a memorial service and tribute to the late Art McDole. Art was an active APCO International member for more than 45 years and is probably one of APCO’s most well-known members.
Two APCO International past presidents and several APCO Life Members were among the attendees. In addition, the presidents of both CPRA and NAPCO, California’s Southern and Northern APCO Chapters, were present along with members of their respective chapters.
After family and friends offered some stories about Art’s life, APCO Past President John Powell described some of Art’s many accomplishments, including a special award named after him. This award is presented from time to time to APCO members for outstanding achievements in areas requiring technical expertise. Art’s many accomplishments while working for Monterey County, Calif., as well as APCO, will be long remembered.
