Northwestern University Selects Motorola Solutions’ New 900 MHz P25 System for More Efficient Communications
July 12, 2011SCHAUMBURG and EVANSTON, Ill. – July 11, 2011 – Motorola Solutions, Inc. (NYSE: MSI) and Northwestern University today announced the selection of Motorola to deploy a 900 MHz ASTRO 25 Project 25 (P25) voice and integrated data communication solution. The new P25 system replaces a 14-year-old analog trunking system and will provide a standards-based IP system that enables interoperability and greater efficiency for the Northwestern University community. The system will be used by Northwestern’s Evanston and Chicago campus police, facilities management, events staff, sports facilities management and other support and operations staff to increase the reliability of communications for a safer campus environment.
