Pasadena AM Radio Can Now Broadcast Up-to-Date Information

Pasadena, Texas — Residents in Pasadena now have another option to keep abreast of news during an emergency event should telephone, television and internet services be interrupted. Pasadena’s Office of Emergency Management recently installed an AM radio station capable of broadcasting up-to-date information in response to any local disaster that may affect residents.

Phone Notification System Approved

June 1, 2011

Washington County, Minn. — Washington County authorities will soon be able to use telephone messages to alert the public to emergencies and relay important information. The Washington County Board approved spending $52,500 and signed a contract with Emergency Communication Network Inc. to provide the CodeRed service.

Emergency Communications Needed

May 26, 2011

After Sunday’s catastrophic tornado wrecked Joplin, Mo., police, fire, ambulance and other rescue groups reported a “widespread breakdown of communication systems” as they tried to locate 1,500 residents reported missing. Back in 2005, after Hurricane Katrina ravaged New Orleans, rescuers were forced to send runners with handwritten notes because various emergency radio systems couldn’t link to each other.
