Human Error Results in No Response to Alarm

Denver – When Denver 9-1-1 received an alarm notification for the home of Lisa Sommers, police were not dispatched because the public safety telecommunicator transposed the alarm’s permit numbers. Such incidents could be prevented by implementing automatic notification and adoption of the Alarm Interface Exchange Standard.

External Alarm Interface Exchange Celebrates Another Victory

August 24, 2010

On Wednesday, Aug. 18, at 1:00 p.m. EST, the transmission method for the notification of alarm events from Vector Security, subsequent responses from the City of Richmond’s (Va.) 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), and bi‐directional updates from both entities were moved into a production environment using International Justice and Public Safety Network (Nlets) message “wrappers” around the payload, Nlets‐assigned message keys and the use of S‐ORI (originating agency identifiers) addresses for routing purposes.
